Yerevan / Mediamax, September 01, 2026. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed the TRIPP project with a delegation led by U.S. Senator Steve Daines in Bishkek.
Photos released by the Armenia’s government press service show that Konstantin Sokolov, head of the TRIPP+ Fund, also participated in the meeting.
“They discussed regional processes and ongoing developments. The role of the TRIPP project in unblocking and developing communications was emphasized, and the participants exchanged views on the progress of the project’s implementation and upcoming programs,” the news release said.
Mediamax notes that Steve Daines, a Republican senator from Montana, outlined details of how Armenia and Azerbaijan had made progress through U.S. mediation in an article published in The Wall Street Journal in late July 2025.
He wrote in particular:
“This year, I traveled to both countries with members of Mr. Trump’s team. We explored the region’s economic potential and facilitated conversations on some of the peace talks’ more difficult issues. I met with both Azerbaijani President Ilhan Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and we discussed practical solutions. Both leaders recognize the moment’s urgency and the profound opportunities before them.”
